    TECHNICAL SECTION

  19. What lock models are your products compatible with?
  20. As its name implies, the RetroFit 1000 will fit in all push-button locks from the Simplex ® (Unican) 1000 series equipped with knobs or levers or more specifically the Lever (L1000) and Lever-Panic (LP1000) models.

  21. How easy is it to install the RetroFit unit?
  22. The RetroFit unit is a drop-in replacement for the mechanical combination chamber. No drilling or wiring is needed. Installation is quick and simple. Click here for more information.

  23. What are the benefits of the electronic chamber over the mechanical one?
  24. The electronic chamber will make the host lock more secure, more convenient to use and more reliable under intense use. Visit this link here for more information.

  25. How reliable is the Retrofit 1000?
  26. The RetroFit 1000 has been proven to outlast the original chamber in applications with more than 700 openings per day. Whether it is used indoor or outdoor (with special gasket), the RetroFit 1000 is up to the task.

  27. How long will the batteries last?
  28. You can expect about 200,000 cycles with only three AA alkaline batteries or more than five years operation on average. The RetroFit 1000 has been designed specifically to minimize energy consumption every time the lock is operated.

  29. Will I be warned if batteries weaken or go dead?
  30. Absolutely. After entering an access code, the user will hear a beeping sound and one of the keys will flash red. The user will also experience an unlock delay. This delay will increase as the battery voltage decreases up to a point where users will be forced to call service personnel for battery replacement. In the unlikely event that the batteries go completely dead, the override key can still be used (if lock is so equipped).
